Strong hearted Montes…NHL Cards win 3 straight over Blue One

‘Spanish Rookie’ Antonio Montes (NHL Cards) is showing his true colors in the PBA Team League. He saved his team from the brink of a reverse sweep with his characteristic calmness.

On the second day of Game 2 of the third round of the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2023-2024 at the Goyang Kintex PBA Stadium in Goyang City, South Korea, the NHL Card won the set 4-3 against Blue One Resort. After winning the first three sets, the Cards were on the verge of defeat when they dropped the next three sets, but Montes defeated Uhm Sang-pil in the sixth set to lead the team to victory.소닉카지노

Until the third set of the match, it looked like an easy victory for NHK Card, who had won 4:0 against Eswai, the winners of the second round the previous day. The NHK Card won the first set 11-10 (8 games) against David Zapata (Spain) and Chan Chapak (Turkiye), before Kim Min-ah and Kim Bomi defeated Kim Min-young and Seo Han-sol 9-5 (9 games) in the second set, and Mamin Cam (Vietnam) turned Zapata around 15-6 in seven games to take a 3-0 lead in the third set.

Facing defeat, BLUEWON rallied with a 9-8 (9 games) victory over Oh Sung-wook and Kim Bo-mi in the fourth mixed doubles match, with the ‘strongest doubles’ Kang Min-koo and Song Pheavy (CAMBODIA) taking a one-point lead. Soon after, Kang Min-koo scored nine ‘finishing highs’ in three games against Cho Jae-ho for an 11-2 win in the fifth set, followed by Song’s five ‘highs’ against Kim Min-ah in the sixth set for a 9:7 (8 games) victory to level the set at 3-3.

In the seventh and final set, Blue One was led by “Leader” Uhm Sang-pil, while NHC was led by Montes, last season’s PBA Rookie of the Year. With the score tied at 6-6 through three innings, Uhm Sang-pil scored three runs in the fourth to take a 9-6 lead. However, Montes calmly piled up the runs with his trademark composure. A five-run “finishing high run,” including his first offensive bank shot, put the finishing touches on an 11-9 victory.

With this victory, the NHCard proved their ‘nemesis’ with three consecutive wins, making it two wins in a row for Blue One Resort in the third round this season. Blue One Resort, on the other hand, had to swallow their disappointment on the brink of a second straight win.

In other matches, Haiwon Resort and Hanacard won side by side against SK Rent-a-Car and Eswai with set scores of 4-1 and 4-2 to complete their second straight victory in the third round. Crown HaeTae defeated Welcome Savings Bank 4-2 in straight sets, thanks to two wins apiece from Lim Jung-sook and Baek Min-ju.
