Ohtani multi-hit, including a triple…Angels fall to Colorado 3-4

Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) went 1-for-3 with a triple, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his team from losing.

Ohtani started in the No. 2 spot in the lineup and went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in the Angels’ 3-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday (June 26) at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, USA.

With his 23rd multi-hit game of the season, Ohtani posted a .297 batting average and a 1.000 on-base percentage (OPS).

Despite Ohtani’s big day, the Angels fell to Colorado 3-4. The Angels, who had pounded out 28 hits the day before in a 25-1 blowout, were held to eight hits and five walks on the day.

The Angels, who lost for the 37th time in 42 games, remain in third place in the American League West. They are 1-4 in their last five games.안전놀이터

After a grounder to second base in his first at-bat, Ohtani singled with runners on first and third in the top of the third inning, but was stranded at the plate.

Then in the top of the sixth inning, trailing 0-3 and with the bases loaded, he drove a 91.9-mph fastball from Colorado starter Austin Gomber to left-center field. Ohtani raced to third for his fourth triple of the season.

Ohtani came home on Brandon Drury’s sacrifice fly with runners on first and third after Mike Trout’s wild pitch.

Trailing 2-3, the Angels gave up an RBI single to Ezequiel Tovar in the bottom of the seventh to cut the deficit to 2-4.

Ohtani retired the side in order in his final at-bat in the top of the eighth, flying out to right field to end the game.

The Angels rallied for a run in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to 3-4, but with runners on first and second, pinch-hitter Luis Renfroe grounded out to third base for the one-run loss.
