AS pre-break squad wiped clean…’Departure’ Heredia, ‘injury’ minimum out
With the final three-game series before the All-Star break, 10 KBO clubs have rested a number of starters who finished the first half of the season.
The KBO will wrap up the first half of its schedule with a three-game series starting on April 11. Following that, the Futures All-Star Game will be held on the 14th and the All-Star Game on the 15th at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan. The second half will resume on the 21st.
Of the five first-team starters, only three will be used in the three-game series. That means the rest of the pitchers with no scheduled starts have no reason to remain with the team.
That’s why the list of first-team eliminations announced on Tuesday included a total of 15 pitchers, including the starting pitchers of each team. Oh Won-seok (SSG Landers), Jung Chan-heon (Kiwoom Heroes), Song Myung-gi and Lee Yong-joon (NC Dinos), Albert Suarez (Samsung Lions), Dan Streeley (Lotte Giants), Choi Won-jun (Doosan Bears), and Felix Peña (Hanwha Eagles) will be taking a break after their last start.
Mario Sanchez (KIA Tigers), who pitched six and one-third innings of five hits (one home run) and no walks with 10 strikeouts in his debut against the Suwon KT Wiz on Sept. 9, will also be rested after a strong first impression.먹튀검증
There are also those who were expunged due to injury or rest. SSG outfielder Guillermo Heredia will leave the country on the 10th to undergo an examination for US citizenship. On the same day, veteran Choi Jeong-jeong, who was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in June, decided to end the first half of the season early to recover from a minor thigh injury. NC also decided to expunge Park Min-woo to give the main infielder a break.
Kiwoom also expunged outfielder Park Joo-hong and pitcher Lee Jong-min, while ninth-ranked Hanwha returned infielder Lee Min-joon to the second team. Lee Min-joon, a rookie, is scheduled to play in the Futures All-Star Game on April 14.
